A Moment Many Parents Recognise

Eva stood outside her teenage son’s bedroom door, unsure whether to go in or stay out. She didn’t want to make things worse — but she didn’t want to walk away either. She could feel the distance growing, and didn’t know how to bridge it.

Many parents say, “We used to be so close.”

Moments like this are more common than parents realise.

They’re not about bad parenting or difficult young people — they’re about how hard it can be to stay connected during the adolescent years, especially when emotions run high.

This is often the moment parents reach out — not because they’ve done anything wrong, but because they care deeply and want to understand what’s happening.

At YouthWell Clare, our work is about supporting young people and their parents in that in-between space, and helping families find steadier ways forward together

This is where our work begins.

How We Help

Youthwell Clare supports teens, young adults, and parents through times of uncertainty, distress, and change.

Our work focuses on creating understanding, steadiness, and a clear way forward - together.

What to Expect

If you’re wondering, “What happens next if I reach out?", here is a simple outline of what you can expect.

Most families begin with an initial meeting that includes the young person and parent(s). From there, parents are offered their own strategy sessions, and young people attend one-to-one therapy – creating a clear, steady pathway of support that moves at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

When you are ready

If you feel it may be time to talk, you are very welcome to get in touch to arrange an initial meeting to ask questions.  â€‹â€‹
